• We were originally suppose to get our keys on Friday August 27th. Did not happen. They weren’t moved out yet. It took until Saturday at 1:30pm to finally get our keys and get started.
• It was the combined effort of 2 of our closest female friends, a guy I’m fond of and his two closest friends, and two of my friends boyfriend’s friends to move all of our things from 3 cars and 2 trucks, after 4 trips into our place.
• It was a carry and dump. And when I say carry and dump, I mean just that. Some things didnt even make the junk pile on the living room floor. Our front lawn still has things on it.
• We weren’t finished moving everything and returning borrowed vehicles until 9PM.
• The only room we managed to assemble on day one was the living room. Anxiety was through the roof, we needed a place to relax.
• Unpacking boxes that have been in storage since November 2008 is like opening presents on Christmas morning. I have a pasta cooker? Hey look at all these dish cloths! Wow I have this movie? Hey! My favourite boots!
• Living out of half empty boxes piled all over walls is frustrating. I couldnt find my tooth brush the first morning, I had to wear open toed shoes in the pouring rain yesterday (that belonged to my roommate because its all I could find), I tripped over things constantly, especially trying to get ready for work in the morning, and theres a few things I am sure I’ve lost.
• People keep bugging me. I’m not meaning to be a bitch here, but I wake up early, work all damn day, get home and work on my house all damn night. Please dont be offended if I just dont feel like meeting you for a drink, having you over or carrying on a lengthy and indepth convo via text or bbm.
• I am tired. Very, very tired.
• I can see it all coming together, slowly. When its done, my life will be complete.

With all thats been going on, I would love nothing more than to be here right now:

To bad I’ve spent too many thousands of dollars on moving to be able to afford such things. Oh well, there’s always next winter.

The experience in a nut shell:
Apartment and Condo shopping has been the most stressful experience of my life. I knew it was going to be difficult, but I didn’t think it would be like this. There are so many factors to consider that I never thought of at first, I got input from my dad, step mom, grandmother, friends, coworkers, etc and took everything into consideration. We began the search on August 1st exactly. It was discouraging. Trying lease hunting with a small dog. Let me know how that works out for you. We called many places, got hung up on, no one called back, etc. We viewed tons. TONS. So many were gross, didnt feel safe, too expensive, bad location, etc.

Tonight Sarah and I are going to hand in our deposit and sign the lease to our new condo. Its absolutely amazing, everything we dreamed of times two and in our price range. We hit the jack pot, it was a fluke, it must have been. Its hard to believe this is about to be our home.

The condo is just over a year old. Stainless steel appliances, in suite laundry, 2 full bathrooms, 2 large bedrooms, gas fire place. My favourite part of all is our patio and spacious yard, gated with a private walk way and entrance.

I’m in love with the padded head board in this room. I’m going to try and make one. I figure its as easy as borrowing a staple gun, getting some stuffing and picking out some fabric to go on a piece of plywood.

I love the clean and simple design of this room. I love white, it makes a room feel bright and fresh.

This is adorable, I love pink with brown. Problem: It reminds me a lot of the bedroom I had in my Dad’s house.

I love wall decals. I actually have some waiting for my walls that have branches and birds on them. This makes my heart happy with its clean black and white design.
